The Drakensberg Family Hike Fest is a guided 25km hiking journey designed especially for families, couples, and friend groups seeking a shared outdoor experience that’s equal parts peaceful and exciting.

Set in the breathtaking landscapes of the Drakensberg mountains, this event includes:

• A fully guided hike: Each group will be accompanied by an experienced local guide, sharing stories about the terrain, wildlife, and history of the area.

• Well-marked trails and scenic rest stops: Perfect for breaks, picnics, and photos.

• Safe and supported: Medical support, hydration points, and support staff along the route.

• Campsite celebration: Once the hike is complete, participants will gather at a central campsite for:

  • A large bonfire under the stars

  • Live acoustic music by local performers

  • Family-friendly games and marshmallow roasting

  • Light dinner and refreshments for all participants

  • Overnight camping with provided tents (optional but encouraged)

This isn’t a race. It’s a celebration of movement, fresh air, and shared moments in one of South Africa’s most beautiful natural settings.
